Abstract Expressionisms

The groundbreaking event Females of Abstract Expressionism celebrates the frequently not known feminine designers of the mid-twentieth-century art action. This is the very first presentation of functions by these artists together at one time.

An original video clip is on view within the event (watch truck when you look at the slide tv show at top), and includes reports about exciting moments in these musicians and artists' life, in addition to dilemmas impacting females during this time period period. an educational lounge offers a space for people to explore the climate associated with the 1950s through pictures, ephemera, and music (with a playlist available on Spotify), a glimpse into other components of the music artists' life, and the opportunity to mirror upon and share private experiences.

The convention is organized by the Denver Art Museum and curated by Gwen Chanzit, the museum's curator of modern art. After the DAM, the convention will journey to the Mint Museum, Charlotte, in October 2016 plus the Palm Springs Art Museum in February 2017.
